What is Permit.io?

Permit.io is an app-level authorization tool that allows users to enforce permissions in the frontend or backend, control via no-code UI elements, and mix and match policy engines. It supports OPA’s Rego and now adds AWS’ Cedar and Amazon Verified Permissions.

The tool generates policy as code directly into Git and deploys it in real-time into the agent in the app. It provides a policy editor interface that makes granting permissions as easy as checking a box, and it enables multi-tenancy, RBAC, ABAC, ReBAC, and more with a single streamlined interface.

Permit.io also offers low-code/no-code interfaces for non-technical users and webhook notifications. It allows users to decouple policy from code, and checking permissions is as easy as permit.check().

The tool also offers powerful attribute and relationship-based access controls made simple, and it allows users to manage users according to their needs with a no-code interface for simple user management. It is powered by OPA, OPAL, and Zanzibar, and it is ready for production use.
