The workforce of tomorrow is already here today! Gartner predicts that by 2020, more than 50% of the workforce will be comprised of external workers including freelancers, contractors and vendors. This means more companies would rely on external partners, contractors and vendors for getting their work done.
Shortlist is a Saas for the Gig Economy. Shortlist helps companies find and manage their complete external workforce (freelancers, contractors and vendors) by providing a one stop shop one stop shop to source, on-board, manage and pay all the external employees, freelancers and vendors.
The current product is currently offered in versions called Enterprise and Professional. Both the versions come with basic capabilities of allowing companies to onboard employees, documentation, groups and categories, bulk management and payments. The Professional version has more features for bigger companies with search and recruitment, personal customization, procurement and integrated APIs.
The company was co-founded by Martin Konrad, CEO. Founder of Design Royale (Exit to Edelman) and contributor to Spend Matters and Entrepreneur magazine and Joey Frasier, COO, who was the CIO for a top 5 global financial communications firm at 24 and has been a sales executive for DP DHL leading their Asia Sales & Solutions Unit. The team has since been growing fast with a sharp focus on technology and development leading to the creation of a robust and user friendly product.
33 percent of today’s US workforce now comprises of independent workers (freelancers, contractors and temps) with companies now spend an estimated $300 billion dollars per year on such contingent labor. Shortlist is aiming to target this fast changing workforce environment with its management platform in an industry which will be worth 230 billion dollars by 2020. With more companies relying on work coming from decentralized and international sources, the workforce management system would aim to relieve companies from the pain of using different tools for sourcing, hiring, managing and communicating with their external workforce.
