Retorio is a Software as a Service that helps recruiters identify the best sales talent. Retorio’s technology tracks and analyzes people’s speech, facial expressions, language, voice and gesture in videos and uses neural networks to objectively predict their personality traits and communication skills. Retorio is an artificial intelligence that helps recruiters and managers to identify and manage talent. Retorio’s machine learning algorithm combines psychology and artificial intelligence to get an objective judgement about communication skills (e.g., pronunciation), interpersonal impression (e.g., appears friendly), and competence demonstration (e.g. acts as a person who is organized). This objective feedback highlights individual skills and supports individual development by offering training advice.
Retorio is a spin-off from the Chair of Strategy and Organization of the Technical University of Munich and was founded in 2018 by Christoph Hohenberger, Patrick Oehler and Abdurrahman Namli . The idea behind retorio was to combine psychology with technology to solve fundamental human challenges: Making objective inter-personal judgements and ensure that the messages humans send are correctly processed by others. Based on these objectives, retorio developed an AI-based communication trainer.
Research uncovered that even small nonverbal cues affect the immediate impression individuals make on someone else. While individuals are often unaware of these cues, everyone knows how crucial a first impression is. People’s speech, facial expressions, language, voice and gesture reveal their personality and motivations and can make predictions regarding future performance. Therefore, it is highly useful to both salespeople and recruiters to detect these factors to identify the best talent.
